The Sylvian System is one of the four systems that form the Nature Systems, and it consists of both general, aligned forest-related genders as well as genders related to both forests and a specific aspect of nature/forests. Each gender in the Sylviansylvian Systemsystem can be used as a gender on its own, or as a modifier for another gender in the system. For example, someone who is feminine-aligned and relates their gender to nature, and specifically pine forests, could use the sylvian terms mistian (fiaspec sylvian gender) and ipinean (sylvian gender related to pine forests) to form "mistic ipinean" to describe their gender experience.

It's important to note the specific nature of this system. Intensity is the defining factor of genders in the Sylvian System. Forests have aesthetics all on their own, but they're also associated with being intense, complete experiences of nature - like the aesthetics and joy of nature, but amplified and seemingly unending, and that intensity is the defining factor of genders in the Sylvian System. They aren't just related to the aesthetics of forests, but of a feeling of such deep, pure, resonating, and almost inexplicable connection to nature that they feel as if it almost is their gender and who they are. The Sylvian System flag by Reign of the breadsticcs

The Sylvian System is one of the four Nature Systems, and is a gender alignment system for genders related to forests and/or specific aspects and aesthetics of forests. These include mystery, peace, intense nature, cottages, trees, and the way light shines almost magically in forests, among other things. Even sylvian genders focused on more specific aspects are also strongly connected to nature as a whole, separating them from other floragenders.

Each gender in the sylvian system can be used as a gender on its own, or as a modifier for another gender in the system.

Forests have aesthetics all on their own, but they're also associated with being intense, complete experiences of nature - like the aesthetics and joy of nature, but amplified and seemingly unending. They aren't just related to the aesthetics of forests, but of a feeling of such deep, pure, resonating, and almost inexplicable connection to nature that they feel as if it almost is their gender and who they are. Someone who is sylvian may feel varying levels of that intensity, but it is the defining factor of genders in the Sylvian System. If someone felt their gender was related to the aesthetics of forests, their gender must also resonated with the deeper aesthetics of nature to be considered sylnian. Otherwise, the Nadurian System has gender related to forests, without the intensity of the sylvian system.

Genders

The genders in the Sylvian system are:

Single Alignment

Double Alignment

Partial/Combination Alignment

Aesthetics

• Ipinean: A sylvian gender related to nature/forests, and specifically pine forests
• Borean: A sylvian gender related to nature/forests, and specifically arctic forests
• Myrkurian: A sylvian gender related to nature/forests, and specifically dark, evil, mysterious forests
• Selvaean: A sylvian gender related to nature/forests, and specifically tropical forests, rainforests, and/or jungles
• Eilumescian: A sylvian gender related to nature/forests, and specifically otherworldly and/or mythological forests.

Combination Identities

Since there is such a large amount of possible alignment combinations, there are no specific terms for identities with three or more alignments; instead, extant terms can be combined to create an identity. For example, to combine fiaspec, niaspec, and xiaspec, the terms mistian (fiaspec sylvian gender) and lehinian (niaspec + xiaspec sylvian gender) could be combined as mistilehinian.

History

All of the terms for the Sylvian System were coined by Wikia user Reign of the breadsticcs around mid-February of 2021, and the flags were coined by the same user a little later on in the month.
