Borean is a gender in the Sylvian System, one of the four Nature Systems. It is a gender which is both connected to forests, deep naturecore, and their overall aesthetics but which has a specific and strong connection to arctic. One may feel like their gender is specifically related to arctic forests or a specific part of them. For example, someone may feel that their gender is related to arctic forests if their gender is deeply naturecoric but also feels cold and laden with a deeply cold and isolated feeling. Borean people can have any alignment and/or no alignment, and depending on what alignment they have, they could use another term from the Sylvian System to describe themselves. For example, a borean person who is fiaspec could say they're mistic borean, from mistian.
History
The term borean was coined by FANDOM user Reign of the breadsticcs in mid-February of 2021, and the flag was designed later that month by the same user. This page is the original source of the term.
Etymology
The term 'borean' comes from the word 'boreal' describing a tundra climate.
