    Conformant describes an individual who falls into the expected societal ideals, expectations, or roles for some form of identification. One can be conformant in terms of gender, sex, gender expression, orientation, relationships, or other related forms of self-identification. The opposite of conformant is variant. Individuals can be variant in some areas and conformant in other areas. To specify certain subcommunities, terms like gender conformant, attraction conformant, pronoun conformant, etc. can be used. Conformant on it's own can also be used to refer to someone who is fully conformant in all aspects.

    Forms of Conformity

    Attractional Conformance

    • Suptilic: An orientation that is strict, not changing or flexible.
      • Kymenic: An orientation that is static, not fluid.
      • Diastimic: An orientation that is stable, not fluctuating in intensity.
    • Perioriented: When ones sexual orientation and romantic orientation match.
    • Allosexual/romantic: Regularly feeling sexual and romantic attraction.
    • Ectosexual/romantic: Experiencing attraction to individuals other than oneself. The reverse of autosexual/romantic.
    • Monoromantic/sexual: Being attracted to one gender.
    • Binian: Being only attracted to binary individuals.
    • Duaric: Being a man attracted to women (mlw) or a woman attracted to men (wlm).
      • Julietian: Being a woman attracted to men (wlm)
      • Romeric: Being a man attracted to women (mlw)
    • Straight/Hetero: Attracted only to individuals of the “opposite” gender (men exclusively attracted to women or women exclusively attracted to men).

    Relationship Conformance

    • Amorous: Desiring a close partnership.
    • Monogamous/Monoamorous: Only wanting to have a relationship with one individual at a time, no open relationships.

    Sex Conformance

    • Perisex/Dyadic: Not intersex. Being born with sex characteristics classified as male or female.
    • Protosex: Not altersex. Having sex characteristics that are classified male or female, and desires those characteristics.
    • Cissex: Someone who has not medically altered their sex characteristics, and does not wish to do so.
    • Infrasex: Not parsex or varsex.
