    The virprox flag.

Virprox, alternatively named virproximal or azurprox, describes a non-binary individual who experiences a connection to boyhood and/or manhood, (regardless of their actual gender). This term is similar to, and inspired by the term boyprox, however virprox does not include binary men; virprox describes an experience that is specific and exclusive to non-binary individuals. A virprox individual experiences a connection to boyhood, but not completely to boyness, because they are not solely, completely and always a boy/man (however, not all non-binary individuals will feel they have a connection to boyhood), for example:

    • Demiboys, bxys, and other individuals who are partially men/boys and have a connection to boyhood/manhood.
    • Genderfluid individuals who are sometimes, but not always, men/boys and have a connection to boyhood/manhood.
    • Non-binary individuals who otherwise identify with masculinity and/or as a miaspec/mingender identity and have a connection to boyhood/manhood.

“Boyhood” is a large concept that is hard to define, but it is typically an experience that comes from being seen as male by society. Some examples of boyhood include, but are not limited to:

    • A connection to masculinity.
    • A connection to men, despite actual gender identity.
    • A sense of belonging in men’s spaces.
    • A masculine gender presentation.
    • Being assigned male at birth and holding that significant to one’s identity.
    • Holding male-assigned experiences significant to one and one’s life (ex: boy scouts, attending an all-boys school).
    • Being raised as a boy/man and/or experiencing going through life being perceived as a boy/man.
    • Identifying partially, sometimes, or always as a man - this is not required for boyhood, but often accompanies it.

Virprox individuals must identify with some or all of these things.

Virprox is an umbrella term, but it can also be used a specific gender if desired. For example, if someone cannot narrow down their gender any further than that they have a connection to boyhood/manhood and are non-binary, they may identify as virprox.

    Its feminine counterpart is eraprox.
