Stratosphenic is a term used to show how close or far one is from the gender binary. Stratosphenic describes someone who considers themselves to be near the gender binary, while stilling some disconnection from it. It is near one or both binary genders but is not as close as troposphenic. For example, one might be a stratosphenic cutegender, or a stratosphenic proxvir.

History
Stratosphenic was coined on December 17, 2019 by Tumblr user Biohazardmogai.[1] The original flag was created at the same time. The term stratosphenic comes from the word stratosphere, the second major layer of Earth's atmosphere. The flag with the cloud was an edit made by Tumblr user hadalpelagic--zone on the same day.[2]
