Semian (sem-ee-in, not the goddam monkey) is an identity that's never in it's entirety for an unspecified reason. One's identity is partial, for short. An individual might describe themselves as or with this identity:
- Due to a blank, unexplainable and permanent space in one's label (this does not suggest that people should incorporate their sense of denial or questioning into their identity).
- If demi (gender / sexual / romantic), grey (gender / sexual / romantic) or apathetic in some form and more comfortable with the label - or want to express their identity further.
The label semian is not exclusive to these examples, anyone who feels as though the definition fits them may identify with it.
Etymology
Semi - relating to the idea of something partial, or somewhat disconnected. -Ian, suffix to form a term related to one's identity that is considered partial in some way.
