Romance-oscillating individuals may find their feelings regarding romantic interaction changing frequently, potentially several times a day, or infrequently, potentially over the course of years.
Some individuals may feel one way about certain romantic acts, while feeling another way about other romantic acts. The term romance-ambivalent may be used to describe this experience.
Some individuals may be repulsed by the idea of personally engaging in romantic activity, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards romantic interaction that does not involve them or romantic interaction as a concept. The term romance-averse may be used to describe this experience.
