Quickgender (also known as QSgender, quicksilvergender, or quicksilgender) is a marvelgender with a strong connection to Quicksilver, or that is influenced by Quicksilver in some way. One might feel that their gender can only/mainly be described as being Quicksilver himself. For example, a gender that is misunderstood, restless, multifaceted, etc. Alternatively, one’s gender might instead feel like his powers, such as a gender that moves too quickly to be grasped but recovers just as fast.
Someone might also use the quickgender label if their gender changes and/or fluctuates while doing something related to Quicksilver, including thinking about him, reading about him, writing about him, etc. This would fall under the mutogender umbrella, and depending on the individual, it might also be considered a fictigender, gamegender, dreamgender, etc.
The term can also be used by those who are neurodivergent and have a special interest/hyperfixation related to Quicksilver that affects their gender. This could be a passiogender, fixigender, spinjoy, and/or neurogender. One might also identify as stebaonic.
Lastly, quickgender can apply to quicksilverkin whose kintype affect their gender. Their gender might feel more masculine/man-aligned, their gender might change when they experience a shift, or they might simply feel a connection to Quicksilver-related labels. This would make it a kingender.
History
The term was coined by Tumblr user synpa-tee on August 27, 2021. The flags were made by the same user on the same day.[1]
Flags
The quickgender flag has seven stripes: one white stripe and six blue stripes of different values. There is also a silver-blue lightning bolt in the center. This is based on Quicksilver's most well-known costume, which is blue with a white lightning bolt.
The alternate flag has five stripes: two purple stripes, two green stripes, and a yellow stripe. There is also a purple fast-forward symbol in the center. The purple stripes and symbol represent Quicksilver's second Uncanny Avengers costume, the green stripes represent his original costume, and the yellow stripe represents his second X-Factor costume.
