Nomicorvid, also known as nomicrow, is a termcollector identity that describes an individual who collects names and/or identities like corvids collect items. An individual under this label may have several names they feel equally connected to, and may feel the desire to switch between them often. Using different names may bring this individual euphoria or a sense of comfort, leading to seemingly rapid and/or random changes over a period of time. They tend to hang on to new names as they find them, and may be on a constant hunt for more.

Nomi-, being the prefix, is derived from the Latin word nom, meaning name. -corvid, being the suffix, is derived from the tendency of corvids to take and hoard things they consider shiny or new. Together, the word nomicorvid means someone who "collects" and uses multiple names.

    History

The term nomicorvid was first coined on October 11, 2021, by user Elkfeathers, the creator of the term genderflight. She herself goes by many names and has been searching for the perfect term to describe her feelings and tendencies around her name hoarding.

Both the main and alternative flags were created by 'The A Collective' on discord. They based it on the namecollector/namehoarder and termcollector flags. The alternative flag is a desaturated version of the main flag as it was created to reduce eyestrain.
