    The mathgender flag.
Alternate mathgender flag by Tumblr user felix-makes-flags

Mathgender is a term that can be used as a gender on its own or as an umbrella term. As an umbrella term, mathgender encompasses any genders described through or conceptualized using mathematical or numerical concepts or are linked to math, mathematical concepts, or numbers in some way. As a distinct gender, it is a precise yet complex gender where the more one explores its intricacies, the more bizarre it becomes. It is similar to sciencegender.

    List of Mathgenders

Just as there are different branches of mathematics, different branches of mathgenders exist. The five types of mathgenders are algebraic, numeric, discrete, analytical, and geometric.

    Algebraic

In mathematics, algebra is the study of mathematical symbols and the rules for manipulating these symbols. The only distinct algebraic mathgender is numbergender.

    Numeric

Number theory refers to a branch of mathematics devoted primarily to the study of integers and integer functions. Numeric or integral mathgenders include hexagender, heptagender, pentagender, and decagender. These genders are also referred to as multigenders.

    Discrete

Discrete mathematics is the branch of mathematics dealing with countable sets. Unlike mathematical analysis or geometry, discrete mathematics focuses on distinct, separated values, finite or infinite, rather than continuous values. Discrete mathematical objects can often be enumerated by integers but may deal with distinct numbers that are difficult but not impossible to conceptualize.

    Discrete mathgenders include:

While discrete mathgenders are multigenders, they are better described as pangenders based on the amount of genders encompassed by them.

Arithmogender is also a discrete mathgender, as it focuses on any number-related gender experiences within the set of real numbers and not just integers.

    Analytical

Mathematical analysis is the branch of mathematics dealing with limits, differentiation, integration, measurement, infinite series, and analytic functions. These theories are usually studied in the context of real and complex numbers and functions. Analysis evolved from calculus, the study of continuous change.

Analytical or calculous mathgenders include genders like gendernegative and genderpositive that work as a way to measure gender, complexgender and imagigender that frame the Complex Gender Plane, genderdox which deals with infinite series and contradictions of gender, and zerogender which deals with the destructive integration of genders and infinite cycle of gender.

Zilliogender is also an analytical mathgender rather than a discrete mathgender due to "zillion" being colloquially an imaginary number with a continuously changing value based on the individual using the term.

    Geometric

Geometry is concerned with the properties of physical space that are related with distance, shape, size, and relative position of figures. The geometric mathgenders are secgender, sinegender, and tangender (the trigonometric genders) and venngender, which focuses on the overlapping space between two genders.

    History and Flag

The term was coined by an anonymous creator and posted by Tumblr user mogai-archive on or before December 17, 2014.[1] The flag was created by Tumblr user mogai-flag-central on January 13, 2019.[2]

The alternate flag was made Tumblr user felix-makes-flags on December 11th, 2021.[3]
