    The Interpretarian flag

Interpretarian is a mutogender and umbrella term in which someone's gender is interpeted differently by another individual. They may have their own interpretation of their own gender, but they also identify as whatever the other individual interprets them as.[1]

    Examples include:

    - Person X identifies as a woman. Person Y perceives X as a man. Person X now identifies as a man.

    - If person X is with multiple people with different perceptions, X may identify with all these genders, or may pick one.

    - Person X is with multiple people with different perceptions, X may identify depending on which person X is focusing on at that time, if multiple, X may identify as one or multiple identities

    Interpretarian's subsets are:

    Paninterpretarian

    Polyinterpretarian

    Monointerpretarian

    History and Flag

Interpretarian was created by Instagram user vy_artt in Instagram DMs. Yellow and purple are both commonly used for non-binary identities, and the spectrum of gender is represented through a gradient. User Four00am helped create the page.

    Etymology

Interpretarian is a play on 'Interpretation' and the suffix -ian, which means 'to belong to.'
