Genderflor, also known as genderdae or wyvegender, is a form of genderfluidity that never encompasses masculine or feminine genders. Genderflor individuals can be fluid between any range of non-binary genders, unaligned genders (such as aporagender), and genderlessness. However, they are never a binary man or woman and do not experience genders that are related to masculinity or femininity.
The masculine counterpart to genderflor is genderfaun. The feminine counterpart is genderfae.
Variants of genderflor include:
- Genderfloren, who are never binary man or woman but do experience masculine and feminine genders
- Genderflorer, who are never feminine, binary women, or binary men but can be masculine
- Genderfloret, who are never masculine, binary men, or binary women but can be feminine
- Gendersylph, those who are fluid between uncommon non-binary genders such as xenogenders.
History
Genderflor was coined by a Tumblr anon and posted by beyond-mogai-pride-flags on March 25th, 2018.[1] Genderdae was coined on or before April 15, 2018 by friends of an anonymous asker at the blog uncommongenders.[2][3]
The original flag was created by Tumblr user obscure-dare on or before July 19, 2018.[4] Purple represented a feminine but not female color, green a masculine but not male color, and the thick white line in the middle the absence of gender. The bold black lines are from the genderfluid flag, and the thin black lines represent "unplaceable" genders. It was based off the genderqueer flag.
The current flag was created by Admin Kyle from the Tumblr blog uncommongenders on July 19, 2018. It is based on the genderfae and genderfaun flags. The colors are a wide range of colors but do not include blue or pink.
An alternate version of this flag was created by Tumblr user neopronouns on September 17, 2019.[5]
