Epispadias or epispadic urethra refers to urinary opening located on the upper surface, similar to common hypospadic variations. In individuals born CTF or POV, the urethra develops too far anteriorly, the urethral opening is usually wider than typical and located higher than typical, and the clitoris may also be split into two halves.[1]
Epispadias is usually present whenever bladder exstrophy or cloacal exstrophydevelops (where the abdominal wall and pelvis are not closed and the bladder andother organs are exposed or outside the body), but epispadias can also occur by itself.
According to interACT, epispadias is considered an intersex variation.[2]
