Cupioromantic (also known as kalosromantic) is a romantic orientation on the aromantic spectrum. Cupioromantic is defined as someone who does not experience romantic attraction but still desires a romantic relationship. This could be considered the opposite of lithromantic, meaning that you experience attraction but don’t want it reciprocated. Another name for cupioromantic is romance positive aromantics.
Cupioromantic is known as a micro-label. Meaning that by saying that one is cupioromantic it is implied that one is also aromantic. In this case aromantic is the primary romantic identity and cupioromantic acts as a modifier, making a specific sub-category of aromantics.
There are groups of people who are against the use of this term. Claiming that it supports conformity with amatonormativity.
