Chaosgender is a xenogender. It's defined as when one's gender does lots of confusing things and doesn’t make sense to anyone. It can be thought of as a very complex gender, a very fluid gender, a gender which is difficult to understand, or a gender which is hard to fully pin down or describe in one word. Chaosgender may be used as a standalone term, or it can be used in addition to other terms. It can also be used as a modifier by combining it with other identities (chaosboy, chaosgirl, chaosnonbinary, etc.)

Similar terms include pomogender, egogender, and quoigender.

    History

The term chaosgender was introduced as late as July of 2016, though it may have been coined earlier than that. It was coined by Tumblr user ihatecispeople.Cite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag

    Flag

The origin of the original flag is unknown, but it was likely created in the year 2016 or earlier. A chaotic shape covers the flag, inverting each color into its opposite.

The second flag was created in July of 2016 by DeviantArt user Pride-Flags. A large 'X' symbol covers the flag, inverting each color into its opposite.

The third flag was created by an anonymous Wiki user in October of 2020. The number of stripes was randomly generated, as well as the colors used for those stripes. The stripes are various sizes, and the colors are flipped/on opposite sides. This flag was designed as an alternative that would be easier on the eyes, while still conveying chaos.

The soft chaos flag was designed by an anonymous Wiki user in October of 2020. It is the same as the previous flag, but the colors are pastel. This flag was designed for chaosgender individuals who consider themselves or their gender to be soft, as well as chaosgender individuals who appreciate the soft/pastel aesthetic.
