Arousmic is a term used to describe someone who has an identity that changes when participating pornography, sex work, and/or stripping. This can include any identity, including sexual orientation, romantic orientation, tertiary attraction, pronouns, name, and even amorous identity.
Some examples of this include, but are not limited to:
- Someone who is usually non-binary, but swaps to being a man when stripping.
- An individual whose sexual or romantic orientation changes during sex work (serverix.)
- Someone who is typically polyamorous, but desires a wavership when participating in sex work.
- Someone who usually uses xe/xem, but uses kae/kaer when creating pornography.
- Someone who typically experiences platonic attraction, however they experience alterous attraction instead during sex work.
- Someone who typically uses the name Abby, but uses Alloma when stripping.
Someone who identifies with this term may or may not also identify as abrosexual, abromantic, aceflux, aroflux, pronounfluid, nomifluid, genderfluid, or something similar.
History and Flag
This term was coined by Alex from Cryptocrew's system on May 31st of 2021 in order to support sex workers and strippers in the experiences they may have.
This flag was designed by FANDOM user Wonderland.Ish on June 4, 2021. The meaning goes as follows: blue for fluidity/change, red/orange for sexuality, and dark pink/purple for stripping, pornography, and sex workers.
