This page mentions drugs and themes of drugs/medication. Do not read if these are triggering topics to you(&).

    Weedgender

Weedgender is sub-identity of Druggender, and is effected by how high one is on THC (known colloquially as weed). This could be smoking, vaping, dabbing, or edibles. Those who identify as Weedgender feel more connected with their gender while high, or being high makes them feel a new gender entirely.

    Hempgender

Hempgender is a more broad version of weedgender which includes weedgender's definition, but also includes CBD, another hemp product. Hempgender and its flag were coined by Saku of the Starlets System.

    History and Flag

Weedgender's source, Druggender, along with its flag, was coined by tumblr user Gender-Garden on July 30th, 2018. The Weedgender flag was created by Fandom user MiamiHotlines on June 30th, 2021 and is an edit of the original Druggender flag.

Druggender was most likely created as a joke identity, but could be reclaimed by individuals who use drugs. (For example, smoking marijuana to help with mood or overstimulation.)

    Hemp Products

There is a really negative stigma around the usage of hemp products like THC and CBD, but this is a stigma based in racism, as they've been used to villainize people of color, especially Black and Latine people of color, who use the products. In reality, the opportunities for benefitting from using hemp products greatly outweigh potential health risks, which are associated with all drugs and do not make hemp products bad or shameful.

Drugs like CBD and THC are known to have healing affects for many different psychiatric and neurological disorders/conditions/illnesses/etc. such as PTSD, epilepsy, anxiety, and others, and in many cases are becoming more common methods of medication treatments for people with these issues.

    PTSD/PTSS

Marijuana products have been found to help people with PTSD/PTSS sleep better and cope with flashbacks, as they have a dimming effect on memory and memory-related stimulus, which helps people with PTSD/PTSS to not have as strong flashbacks and reactions to them.

    Anxiety

Similar to how it has been shown to help in people with PTSD/PTSS, medical marijuana has been shown to held drastically with reducing both initial stress, and with secondary reaction to stressing stimulus, in people with anxiety disorders.
