Uterus didelphys, or didelphic uterus, is an intersex condition affecting approximately 1 in 3,000 AFAB people, in which one has double uterus and two separate cervices, and possibly a double vagina as well.[1] Each uterus has a single horn and a single ovary. It is a congenital condition where the Müllerian ducts failed to fuse when in the womb. People with the condition may be asymptomatic and unaware of having a double uterus, how they are more likely to experience severe menstrual pains and pain during sex.

Someone with this condition may be able to get pregnant, and may even be able to get pregnant in both uteruses. In the majority of pregnancy cases, the babies survive, however they have more of a chance to be born prematurely.

    History

It is unknown when this condition was first discovered. However there have been cases reported since the 1980s.
