Transnominal or Transnomial refers to when the gender of one's name(s) differs from one's assigned gender at birth, or the gender or the name assigned to them at birth. It is can also be defined as transcending one's birth name or identifying as a name different from one's assigned name.
One does not necessarily have to experience name dysphoria to be transnominal. One also does not have to be transgender to be transnominal.

The transnominal flag was created on January 27, 2021 on the Tumblr blog beyond-mogai-pride-flags.[1] It uses purple and yellow from the multinominal flag and the colors of the transgender flag.
