Sex-repulsed is a sex stance that describes an individual who is repulsed by the act or concept of sexual interaction. The term is commonly used by asexual spectrum individuals, but is not exclusive to this community or sexuality.
<b>Sex-repulsed</b> is a term that is used most commonly by asexual and other ace-spec individuals to indicate that they find sexual activity undesirable (perhaps repulsive/disgusting/revolting), uninteresting, or otherwise uncomfortable or unwanted. Sex-repulsion can take many different forms. Some are repulsed by the idea of engaging in sex themselves, but are fine with sexual activity that does not involve them. These individuals may identify as sex-averse. Other individuals may be repulsed by the idea of sex in general. For some individuals, sex-repulsion is only directed at the act of intercourse; for other individuals, repulsion may extend to other sexual acts. Some individuals may experience varying amounts of sex-repulsion.

Sex-repulsed individuals may find sexual activity undesireable, uninteresting, uncomfortable, or generally unwanted. This is not the same thing as being asexual or lacking sex-drive (libido).
Some individuals use sex-aversion and sex-repulsion interchangeably, but to many these are distinct experiences. Sex-aversion specifically refers to negative feelings regarding the idea of oneself being in a sexual situation. Aversion to the idea of sex in general would fall under sex-repulsion. Repulsion also has the association of stronger negative feelings like fear or disgust, or physical reactions like cringing, shaking, pain, or nausea. These can still be present in sex-aversion, but only in relation to one's own participation in sexual activity.

Some individuals may be repulsed by the idea of personally engaging in sexual activity, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards sexual interaction that does not involve them or sexual interaction as a concept. The term sex-averse may be used to describe this experience.
It is important to note that being sex-repulsed is not the same as being sex negative. "Sex negativity", also called antisexualism, is a term that is often used by those who are hostile towards sexual behavior or sexuality. It is also often used by SWERFs and/or those against sex workers or the creation of sexual media (such as pornography.) individuals strongly repulsed by the general idea of sex can still be supportive of others' sexual freedoms.

Some individuals may be repulsed by certain sexual acts, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards other sexual acts. The term sex-ambivalent may be used to describe this experience.
Sex-repulsion isn't essentially related to sexophobia, genophobia, haphephobia, anthrophobia, misanthropy, social phobia, philemaphobia/philematophobia, philophobia or erotophobia.

Some individuals may feel repulsed towards sexual interaction due to trauma or exhaustion. The term sex-drained may be used to describe this experience.
Not all asexuals are sex-repulsed; many are averse, indifferent or ambivalent about sex, or may be sex-favorable or sex-interested. Likewise, not all sex-repulsed individuals are asexual. There is a small but present minority of individuals who are allosexual but are sex-repulsed.

Someone who is sex-repulsed may identity as apothisexual, ARCsexual, or anticarnal.

The sex-repulsed flag.
An alternate sex-repulsed flag with adjusted colors and Rule of Tincture.

Sex-repulsed is a sex stance that describes an individual who is repulsed by the act or concept of sexual interaction. The term is commonly used by asexual spectrum individuals, but is not exclusive to this community or sexuality.

Sex-repulsed individuals may find sexual activity undesireable, uninteresting, uncomfortable, or generally unwanted. This is not the same thing as being asexual or lacking sex-drive (libido).

Some individuals may be repulsed by the idea of personally engaging in sexual activity, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards sexual interaction that does not involve them or sexual interaction as a concept. The term sex-averse may be used to describe this experience.

Some individuals may be repulsed by certain sexual acts, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards other sexual acts. The term sex-ambivalent may be used to describe this experience.

Some individuals may feel repulsed towards sexual interaction due to trauma or exhaustion. The term sex-drained may be used to describe this experience.

Sex-repulsed individuals may also identify as apothisexual, ARCsexual, anticarnal,or Inactsexual.

The term sex-repulsed is sometimes confused with sex-negative. Sex-negative (also referred to as antisexualism) is a political position used by those who are hostile towards sexual expression or sexuality. It is also often used by SWERFs and individuals who are against sex workers or the creation of sexual media (such as pornography).[1] Sex-repulsed individuals are distinct from this idea, as individuals who are repulsed by sexual interaction may still be supportive of others’ sexual freedoms.

Sex-repulsion is not necessarily related to sexophobia, genophobia, haphephobia, anthrophobia, misanthropy, social phobia, philemaphobia/philematophobia, philophobia, or erotophobia.

History

This term has existed within the asexual community with no clear first coining for many years. The term was recoined for the purpose of providing a concrete source by AnonymousHermitCrab on the subreddit r/asexuality on April 27th, 2022.[2]
