Ritsugender, also known as NamineRitsugender or RitsuNaminegender, is a xenogender under the UTAUloidgender umbrella related to the UTAUloid Namine Ritsu in some way. This gender may or may not be capitalized as Namine Ritsu's name, and can also be written as 波音リツgender or リツgender.
This may refer to a gender which changes when listening to music featuring Namine Ritsu, a gender which feels validated by Namine Ritsu, or something similar. This gender may also be a masculine-aligned or man-aligned gender, and may be related to femininity, gender non-conformity, and drag, based on Namine Ritsu's canon gender and expression. It may also be used by individuals who feel that Namine Ritsu is the embodiment of one's gender, or who experience gender envy from Namine Ritsu. It may also be a kingender for Ritsukin individuals.
These are simply a few possible explanations of the identity; any gender related to Namine Ritsu can be considered Ritsugender.
History
Ritsugender, along with its alternative names, was first coined on May 2, 2022, by a user who wishes to remain anonymous. It was coined because the user wanted a term and flag to describe their gender in relation to Namine Ritsu, alongside labels to describe their gender in relation to Kasane Teto (Tetogender) and flower (vflowergender). After this, they coined genders for centered around other Utauloids and Vocaloids as well.
The gender was first publicized on the LGBTA+ Wiki on Miraheze.
Flag
The Ritsugender flag was designed on May 2, 2022 by the same person who coined the term, who wishes to remain anonymous. There is a version of the flag with a music notes symbol, as well as a version without it. The symbol was also created by this anonymous user on May 2, 2022.
The colors of the Ritsugender flag were color-picked from an official image of Namine Ritsu. The meanings of the colors are left up to interpretation, and do not have a strict meaning behind them. However, the creator of the flag personally describes the meaning of the stripes (from top to bottom) as follows:
- Wine: connection to Namine Ritsu
- Red: gender non-conformity
- White: Chinese cabbages
- Yellow: gender euphoria
- Golden brown: gender envy
- Dark purple: music
- Very dark purple: inclusivity and validation
