Repulsion Descriptors are used to classify a person's stance on activities related to certain types of attraction. For example, someone who is asexual but sex favourable, and would only consider having sex with someone of the same gender would be asexual homofav.

Each identity is comprised of four parts: attraction, type of attraction, spectrum of gender attracted to, and favorability.

Attraction refers to how someone experiences a type of attraction in terms of how or when they experience it. Prefixes for attraction include:

Type of attraction refers to what kind of attraction the person experiences. Suffixes for type of attraction include:

Possible gender spectrum refers to who the person may feel attraction to. This section can be placed between attraction and type of attraction, or placed before favorability. It may also be omitted if the person feels no attraction and is repulsed by the attraction. Prefixes (and/or suffixes) for gender spectrum include:

Favorability refers to someone's opinions on interactions or relationships of the type of attraction. Suffixes for favorability include:

    • -fav
      • [favorable] When someone is favorable of interactions
    • -ambi
      • [ambivalent] When someone has mixed feelings towards the interactions
    • -ndif
      • [indifferent] When someone does not have strong positive or negative feelings towards the interactions
    • -ave
      • [averse] When someone finds the interactions undesirable, uninteresting, uncomfortable, or otherwise unwanted
    • -rep
      • [repulsed] When someone finds the interactions undesirable (perhaps repulsive/disgusting/revolting), uninteresting, or otherwise uncomfortable or unwanted
    • -osc
      • [oscillation] When someone's feelings towards the interactions fluctuate

Additionally, if a person has specified that their possible gender spectrum for an attraction encompasses a specific group, they may wish to add a third word to specify their favorability for other gender identities. For example, someone who is heterofav and repulsed by attraction to all others, they could identify as "heterofav elrep" ("el" referring to all else). Some may prefer not to use this identifier, either because they wish to leave their favorability ambiguous or if their gender spectrum already encompasses all gender identities (e.g. pan).

    History

The system was created by discord user JoDa#8855[1] in order to have a simple way of explaining one's stance on an activity connected to a certain type of attraction. Repulsion descriptors where made with a-spec people in mind.
