QANSTIVEM, pronounced "Kan-Steve-Em", is another inclusionist acronym that is meant to serve as an alternative to LGBT+ but instead of naming specific identities and leaving the rest to "+" this is comprised of umbrella terms as to be as equal as possible. This is to avoid the ever increasing LGBTQIA+ acronym's problem of needing to add more letters to be representative though is not meant to replace LGBT+ as it is a historic acronym with large amounts of sentimental and historical value, this is purely meant to be an alternative. It was inspired by a group of inclusionist symbols[1] created by the original coiner. The acronym stands for:
- Queer & Questioning
- A-spec, Agen-spec, & Amplus-spec
- Nonbinary & Nonconforming
- Similar gender attraction
- Transgender+
- Intersex
- Varioriented
- Ethical Non-Monogamy & Exclusive Identities
- Multi-spec & Multigender
In this case, "Similar gender attraction" refers to a combination of achillean, sapphic, & diamoric.
