Protlasromantic is a romantic orientation on the aromantic spectrum, similar to orchidromantic, used to describe someone who does not, or does not want to, participate in romantic relationships due to one finding them exhausting/draining of one's energy.
A protlasromantic individual could feel that romantic relationships take more work/energy than it does for others and may be seen partially/wholly as the reason why they identify as aromantic or aro-spec, though one does not have to be aromantic/aro-spec to identify as protlasromantic.
History
The term was coined by FANDOM user Drip1leaf on May 1, 2021.[1]
Flag
The flag was created by FANDOM user Drip1leaf, previously known as H1ear1t, on May 17, 2021. The soft blacks represent exhaustion, the pale green represents no desire for romantic relationships, the pale blue represents no desire for queerplatonic/other relationships, the pale yellow represents no desire for platonic relationships, and the moon also represents exhaustion.
Etymology
The word "protlas" is a conjunction of the Latin words propter, meaning "because of," and lassitudinem, meaning "exhaustion."
