Prospatheiaromantic, shortened to prosparomantic, is an aromantic spectrum label where to feel romantic attraction, one must first convince oneself that they do or should feel attracted to this person. A prospatheiaromantic person can also switch “crushes” off at will. It generally requires a certain level of effort and dedication to sustain romantic interest, hence the name, from the Greek prospátheia for “effort”.
The sexual counterpart is prospatheiasexual.
The term was coined on January 8 2021 by wiki user Peanut Butter Fruit Potato. The flag was designed the next day. The black, white and green are a simplified version of the aromantic flag and the red represents the effort required to diminish the aromanticism.
