Pomoromantic refers to someone who denies or does not fit any labels for a particular kind of romantic attraction. A pomoromantic invidivudal rejects, has an aversion to, or does not fit any romantic orientations such as homoromantic, heteroromantic, biromantic, aromantic, etc.

This can either be because one finds the typical way of describing romantic orientation ("I am romantically attracted to x", "I like to romantically kiss x", or "I am repulsed by x") is not applicable to their sense of identity, or because one feels the current vocabulary within the LGBTQ+ community cannot accurately describe their sense of romantic orientation, or because one simply does not wish to describe it. A pomoromantic individual may or may not feel romantic attraction, but is not interested in specifying whether they feel it, or to whom. They do not want or need a specific label.

    The sexual equivalent is pomosexual.

    History

The term pomosexual was coined in 1997 by Carol Queen and Lawrence Schimel. Pomo- is short for postmodern.

The first known use of the term pomoromantic was in 2009.[1]

Pride-color-schemes made two pomoromantic flags, July 5th, 2016.[2]
