Plushgender is a term with a few different definitions:
- A gender that feels related to a stuffed animal
- A kingender that is related to the feelings of a stuffed animal kintype
- A xenogender that relates to plushies and soft toys and feels soft, comforting, and almost nostalgic[1]
- A gender with a connections to stuffed animals, toys, and other soft stuff, like blankets and pillows[2]
- An aesthetigender related to plush aesthetics
History and Flags
Both the first term and the flag were created by a since-deactivated Tumblr user.[3] The flag's colors were based off those of teddy bears.
The third definition and its flags were created by Twitter user Flnalb0ys on July 31, 2020. The flag's meanings are unknown.
The fourth definition and its flags were created by an anonymous submitter to the Tumblr blog Xeno-Aligned on or before January 13, 2021.
- Blue represents traditionally masculine childhood
- Pink represents traditionally feminine childhood
- Yellow and off-white represent abinary genders and those who are questioning their gender identity
Pronouns
Although any pronouns can be used, Flnalb0ys recommended a few pronoun sets for plushgender people:
- plu/plush/plushies
- ted/teddy/teddies
- so/sof/soft (unknown conjugation)
