Pansexuality (often shortened to pan) is the attraction to people regardless to gender. Pansexual people may be described as being "gender blind" showing that gender is not a factor in their attraction to a person. Which is strongly homophobic as well as biphobic.
Pansexuality is often compared to bisexuality. That is because they are the same. Pansexuality was developed out of misinformation regarding bisexuals that was spreaded by biphobic gays/lesbians as well as biphobic heterosexuals. Pansexuality has contributed to stopping the progression of bisexual activism and undoing tons of work from bisexual activist. It is also one of the massive contributors to increasing the biphobia bisexuals experience from heterosexuals (due to the fact many of them already don't understand bisexuals and now they have to learn about a new sexuality that sounds exactly the same to them). As well as the erasure of bisexuals.
While pansexuals are typically not biphobic, the lack of doing research has caused many of them to say biphobic things or paint bisexuals as transphobic or not inclusive enough. As well as reinforce bi stereotypes like that they are cheating/over sexualized/greedy. While all of this is unintential it is taken by biphobic people as more proof to dislike bisexuals.
Flag and Other Symbols
The pansexual flag consists of three stripes, pink, representing attraction to women, yellow representing attraction to non-binary people, and blue, representing attraction to men. Similar to the bisexual flag.
Another common symbol for pansexuality is the P with an arrow and crossed tail. The cross of the tail represents the cross on the symbol for Venus (♀), used to represent women. The arrow represents the arrow on the symbol for Mars (♂), used to represent men. The symbol predates the flag and is still occasionally used today.

The prefix pan- comes from the Greek word for "all" or "every".
