Pov or POV (pronounced pah-v) is an acronym standing for "people of vaginas.'" This is a term for anyone who has a vagina, and is made to be less gender based. This term includes cisgender women, some intersex individuals, some non-binary and anonbinary individuals, transgender women who have had sex reassignment surgery, transine men, many transsex/altergender men, and possibly pre-transitioning trans men.
This term is made to combat the ideology that having a vagina is what makes one a woman, and is made promote gender-neutral language and terms. This term can also stand for "person of (a) vagina" if one wishes to refer to another person or themself as a pov.
This term alternatively could be used to men "people of vulvas" which would be more inclusive to specific intersex conditions.
History
The term Pov was coined by Cryptocrew on March 13th of 2021 in order to help relieve dysphoria and discomfort in many genderqueer individuals.
