Nixic or nixgender is an umbrella of genders that, under the proximal identities system and agender spectrum, are comprised of both genderless aspects and gendered/aligned aspects. This may manifest as identifying as partially as a gender. These gendered aspects can be experienced simultaneously, fluidly, or through fluctuations.
Nixic identities are often used by those who feel simultaneously connected and disconnected from their gender. As well as those who have difficulty distinguishing their alignment from their gender.
Related terms include: nixhood, nixness, and nixity.
Identities:
- Nixvir: Genderless and masculine-aligned.
- Nixera: Genderless and feminine-aligned.
- Nixangi: Genderless and androgynous-aligned.
- Epinixene: Genderless and epicene.
- Nijuxera: Genderless and juxera.
- Pronixvir: Genderless and proxvir.
- Nixavire: Genderless and femache-aligned.
- Nixpangi: Genderless and pandrogyne-aligned.
History
The term was coined by Tumblr user Nixics (now deactivated) on or before Jan 18, 2019[1]. The word comes from a combination of nix, coming from the German word meaning "nothing" or "none".
