    The nekosexual flag
    The nekoromantic flag

Nekosexual is defined as the exclusive or near-exclusive attraction to nekos. A neko is a human with cat-like characteristics, most commonly fangs, cat ears and tails, but other cat-like traits can be present. Nekosexual individuals may be attracted to a cat-like personality, however, regardless of ones physical appearance.

This could potentially include catgender individuals, feline-kin individuals, and other similar genders/kintypes, but does not have to. It is usually a subcategory to fictosexual, in which one finds fictional neko-people to be attractive. The romantic counterpart is nekoromantic.

    Flag

The nekosexual flag was created on November 27th 2020 by Wikia user BisexualDudes55, who coined the term. The pink represents the playful side of nekos. The white represents purity, and the purple represents the the calm side of nekos. The cat design was drawn by user Selfship.

The nekoromantic flag was created by Wikia user Selfship. The brighter pink, off white, and brighter purple represent the same things that their color counterparts on the nekosexual flag do. The lighter pink represents romance, and the lighter purple represents compassion.

    Is nekosexuality LGBTQ+?

Nekosexuality is often confused with a paraphillia, however, this is, by most definitions, an incorrect case. Paraphillias are known as sexual disorders and harmful desires, often leading to the distress of the person experiencing them and/or those around them. Whether or not it is a paraphillia is up to debate, depending on ones definition for such. Some people also confuse it for a fetish, however a fetish is typically when ones sexual arousal comes from a body part, item of clothing, or an object at an unnatural degree. Nekosexuality is simply attraction to cat-like individuals, regardless of how they look, and usually does not come in an unnatural degree of attraction.

Nekosexuality, however, does not usually cause harm, as it does not influence or promote any harmful or dangerous acts, and is simply a desire/attraction to one who either does not exist outside of fiction, or has a cat-related gender. In some cases, one who is ficto-nekosexual may feel levels of distress due to being unable to have sexual feelings for people in reality, however this does not mean that everyone who is ficto-nekosexual feels this way, nor does it mean ficto-nekosexuality is bad.

Nekosexual, due to being a sexual minority that does not cause harm, as well as being ace-spec, would fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.
