Mesi Aromantic or Mesi Aro refers to someone who is on the aromantic spectrum but is not completely aromantic (suptiliaromantic). The term includes greyromantics, demiromantics, lithromantics, etc, any aro-spec people other than pure aromantics are included.
The term is necessary because there is currently no other unambiguous term to refer to mesi aros. The word aro-spec is sometimes used to refer to these people, however aro-spec is a term for the entire spectrum, which by definition includes complete aromantic, so the usage is ambiguous and inaccurate. The term greyromantic can also be used to refer to mesi aros, however greyromantic is also an identity in it's own right. Greyromantic is much more commonly used as a specific identity rather then as an umbrella term, which can make it confusing when the umbrella term definition is used. The term mesi aro is a synonym with the umbrella term definition of greyromantic and allows for a completely unambiguous way to talk specifically about people who are aro-spec but not completely aromantic.
