Meilian is a gender in the Mystian system (one of the four nature systems) related to radiant, idyllic nature or natural magic. It feels decorated, deluxe, and infinitely and breathtakingly beautiful.
It may or may not be an aesthetigender, and it can accompany any alignment (fiaspec, xiaspec, etc.) including unaligned. The gender is related to nature but no particular part of nature such as trees or rivers. It is instead related to the qualities of natural magic, including mischievousness, cunning, and the feral to some extent. Since it relates to an aspect and not any specific part of nature, it can be combined with genders from all four of the nature systems to describe magical aspects of a more specific aspect of nature, such as
- meilian alluvian, a gender connected to beautiful rain magic
- meilian eilumescian, a gender connected to beautiful forest magic
- meilian sunfleurian, a gender connected to beautiful sunflower magic
Etymology
Meilian comes from the pinyin anglicization of mei li from the Mandarin word "美丽," which translates to beautiful.
