Loveloose is a term referring to individuals (especially, but not exclusively, those on the aromantic spectrum and the aplatonic spectrum) who use love as a broader term than it is intended, or who do not experience anything that fits the definition of “love”, but use the word to define their experience anyway.
Being Loveloose may have overlap with or seem similar to being Loveless or Lovequeer for some individuals who use it, but was coined with those who felt neither term fit them in mind.[1]
Flag
The Loveloose flag was made by Tumblr user 1-800-ibuprofen on March 28th, 2022. The red on the flag stands for love, grey for the lack of the "traditional" sense of love, and the heart has wings to symbolize that it will go wherever it wants to, being "loose". It shares it's format with the Queerplatonic flag.[2]
