Lightninggender, also known as flashgender, is a xenogender where one is mostly neutral but experiences experiences small, seemingly random flashes of their gender. Depending on if they feel feminine, masculine, or androgynous, it subdivides into lightningfem, lightningmasc, and lightningneu.
Lightningfem
Lightningfem is a subset of lightninggender where one's gender comes in at random flashes and has some connection to femininity.
Lightningmasc
Lightningmasc is a subset of lightninggender where one's gender comes in at random flashes, and has some connection to masculinity.
Lightningneu
Lightningneu is a subset of lightninggender where one's gender comes in at random flashes and has some connection to neutrality.

Lightninggender was coined by ReversedServers on Scratch on June 3rd, 2021. The flags were made on the same day.
Etymology
The prefix lightning- comes from the English word lightning, which is a biological phenomenon that happens in small flashes. The suffix -gender has an obvious meaning, though combined with the prefix it means "flashing gender" which is similar to Flashgender, alternate name for the term.
