Flag and History
Lightninggender, as well as the subsets lightningfem, lightningmasc, and lightningneu, were coined by user ReversedServers on Scratch on June 3rd, 2021.[1] The flags were made on the same day. The subsets lightningandrogy and lightningxeno were later coined by the same user, and their flags were created.
Etymology
The prefix lightning- comes from the English word lightning, which is a biological phenomenon that happens in small flashes. The suffix -gender has an obvious meaning, though combined with the prefix it means "flashing gender" which is similar to flashgender, alternate name for the term.
