It is a desire to interact with a particular individual without being attached to their history or personality. For example, the sort of relationship one would have with a neighbor they gossip with or with a communicator managing information.
It's the kind of attraction that’s based on impersonality and a desire for being acquaintances with someone, rather than being friends with them. It can be based around an appreciation for someone’s personal demeanor. One can like someone for what they are, but not for who they are. It can sometimes be seen as an aesthetic attraction.
It is useful for aplatonic, anamical and asocial individuals.

Flag
The flag was coined by a user going by Adora on December 22nd, 2020. Dark grey represents individuals one sees daily, medium grey represents individuals one sees weekly or monthly, light grey represents individuals one sees yearly, and greyish-white represents individuals one sees with no set schedule. The two message boxes represent speaking and interacting, while the line inbetween represents how the relationship isn't deeper than that. The rainbow represents the LGBTQ+ community, and how the flag should only be used by individuals within it (asocial, aplatonic, anamical, etc).
The impersonal flag by Tumblr user isobug was posted on November 8, 2022, based off the acquaintanceship flag, white and grey are specifically kept in as a callback to the original impersonal attraction flag. Format was chosen to mimic the aplatonic and platonic attraction flags, isobug also swapped the order of the blue and cyan to make it less similar to the fray- flags.
