Hueco

Hueco, also spelled Huequereque, is a reclaimed slur used against men-loving men, transfeminine and AMAB gender non-conforming people in Guatemala, Chile and possibly other Hispanic countries. The feminine equivalent, Hueca, may also be used against sapphic women and transmasculine people. However, it is generally used to insult women as a whole.

Origins

The term "hueco" literally translates as "empty, shallow, hollow, or superficial" among other terms that indicate a lack of substance. This comes from the homophobic stereotype that queer men are usually feminine, and the misogynistic belief that femininity indicates no intelligence or dept within a person.
