The term homoflexible is used to describe an individual who experiences attraction mostly to the same gender, but has occasional tendencies to be attracted to the opposite gender. People who identify as homoflexible may identify with this label only, but some just identify as gay or lesbian.

    Examples

Katrina, a woman from Vancouver, BC, replied with this after being asked about her homoflexibility.

“My homoflexible identity means that while I am attracted to women generally, it doesn’t mean that I am not capable of having sexy fun time with men.”

    Application to the Kinsey Scale

The Kinsey Scale is a way to determine your sexual preferences through a test. Once you take the test, the website will give you a score from 1-6, 1 being exclusively heterosexual, 6 being exclusively homosexual. Homoflexible individuals will usually fall at about a 5 on this scale.

    More labels

Some homoflexible individuals, as stated above, identify strictly as gay or lesbian. Some argue that it is a true form of bisexuality, and use the label bisexual instead. Others simply identify as homoflexible. The choice for sexually flexible individuals really is up to them. Choose whatever label is most comfortable with you.
