    The Free Relations pride flag
    Alternate Free Relations flag

Free relations or free relationships (called Relações Livres in the term's language of origin, often shortened to RLi) describes the autonomy and full personal freedom regardless of the sexual/romantic relationship and in any circumstance of stability that one may experiences.

The concept is similar to relationship anarchy and free love. It may overlap with solo polyamory and singleish.

    History

It is currently unknown who coined this term, but "Free Relationships" or "Free Relations" have been terms used to describe non-monogamous relationships since 2010.[1] This term seems to have been popularized in Brazilian non-monogamous spaces, as most forums discussing the terminology are in Portuguese and originate from Brazil.[1][2][3]

    Flag

The flag and alternate flag were designed by Tumblr user arco-pluris on March 18, 2018.[4] The flag's color meanings are the following: purple represents feminism, red represents free love, yellow represents wisdom and amicality/platonicity, white/grey represent being open (or being single), green represents opposition to monogamous romantic love (can be for anarcho-naturism as well).[5] The alternate flag has the same meaning.
