Femmesexual, also known as femsexual, rarely referred to as venusexual, womasexual, or womansexual, is the attraction to women, femmes, feminine non-binary people, and androgynous non-binary people. Unlike venusic, femmesexual is not exclusive to non-binary people.

    Its counterpart is mascusexual.

    History

The earliest use of the term was by Twitter user BadBadOfelia on October 30, 2010.[1] The current definition of femmesexual was created by Urban Dictionary user cynxcity on September 12, 2011.[2]

Femmesexual was originally seen as both a synonym for gynesexual[3] and a unique identity.[4][5]

In response to the controversial definition of gynesexual,[6] femmesexual began to be defined as a unique identity.

    Flag

The first femmesexual flags were created on or before June 26, 2016 by an unknown creator.[7] Both of these flags emerged at the beginning of the move to separate femmesexual and gynesexual.

An alternate femmesexual flag was created by Tumblr user milky-waygalaxy and an anonymous creator on January 21, 2019.[8]

On February 25, 2020, Tumblr user lithigender redesigned the femmesexual flag based on the gynesexual flag. The blue stripe represents attraction to feminine boys, the magenta stripe attraction to non-binary people, and the orange stripe attraction to feminine girls.

Another femmesexual flag was created by FANDOM user HakuoTan on June 15, 2020. The dark fuchsia stripe represents passion and strong femininity, the medium fuchsia stripe love, the light fuchsia stripe natural beauty, the brown stripe women and non-binary people of color, the gold stripe people who are mildly feminine, the light yellow stripe people who are completely androgynous, and the white stripe trans women and other transfeminine people.
