Fembian, aka femmebian, is a subset of lesbian in which a lesbian and femme individual has a preference for femmes. It might be that an individual is attracted to non-binary/feminine aligned individuals that embrace femininity, whilst also having a feminine presentation. Fembian can be used as an identity for what was the undefined phenomenon of 'femme-for-femme'.
The masculine equivalent of fembian is butchbian. The androgynous equivalent is futchbian.
History
The term was heavily inspired by both femme and lesbian, and had been coined on October 31st, 2021 (by somemaniac). It's purpose was to not exclude lesbians of other presentations but to help other lesbians further express their identity. Fembian and lesbian can be used spontaneously, similar to how a-spec identities can be used with other orientations.
