Woman, also known as Female, Gal, or Girl (diminutive) is a gender which is part of the gender binary. It is associated with femininity and a connection to girlhood or female-ness (as defined in one's society). It includes cisgender, transgender, non-binary and genderqueer women. Some non-binary people also may have a partial connection to being a woman or female-ness, in which case they may be call woman-aligned or fiaspec.

Woman is a term used for adults, while girl is used for children. Gal is used a casual word for women, typically younger women. Female is also sometimes used as a synonym for woman, however "female" can also be used to denote sex traits, so can sometimes be used to exclude trans women or reduce women to their genitals. Female is also typically considered too clinical for most cases. The word wifgender was created to encompass all the various words.

People who are assigned female at birth are often raised with the expectation that they will identify as women, although is not always to case. Identifying as a woman is often associated with a feminine gender expression and gender role, however not all women present femininely, and not all people who present femininely are women.

    Flag

The woman flag was designed by Tumblr user Trintinic on December 29, 2017.[1] The dark pink represents those who identify fully as women (binary woman). Light pink represents those who identify partially as women (demigirls, etc.) White represents multigender people who have woman as one of their genders.

The female flag was designed by queerflagswithbenton some time before September 18 2020.[2] There is no known meaning.
