Fanficgender, also known as fanfictiongender, is where your gender is connected to fanfiction in some way. Your gender might change while reading or writing fanfiction, like you might be male when not reading fanfiction and female when reading fanfiction. You might also use fanfiction to better explain your gender, or a specific fanfiction to explain it. You might also describe it as an alternate version of the gender you identify as, which would be alternategender, based off of alternate universes (AUs), which are very common in fanfiction.
The fanficgender flag has eight stripes. The first three stripes represent the three most common fanfic sites, in order: fanfiction.net, Archives of our Own, and Wattpad. The next three stripes represent the three most common types of fanfiction, in order: AU fanfics, character x reader fanfics, and character x character fanfics. The last two stripes, which are black and white, are meant to represent black words typed on a white screen, and represent any other types of fanfiction that people can come up with.
The alternategender flag has eight stripes, each representing the most common AUs: Everybody lives AUs, genderbent AUs, non-canon ship AUs, high school AUs, coffee shop AUs, fake dating/fake marriage AUs, and then a black and white stripe to represent any other AUs that people can come up with.
