Ductuaffectis is a form of attraction in which one feels an animalistic sense of desire and connection to an individual. This term can be used for one who feels like the dedication, passion, and love they feel is almost pet-like in nature. For example, one may feel a sense of loyalty and love for a person that they can only describe as being 'like a dog.'
This term was coined with otherkin, therian, and non-human alters within systems in mind, however anyone can experience this attraction. This may also be commonly experienced by those who experience species regression, or a neurodivergent individual with strong connection to animals.

This term was coined on April 12th of 2021 by Cryptocrew in order to describe William's experiences with her attraction.
Etymology
Ductu is Latin for 'instinct' while affectis is Latin for 'affection.'
