Dhmisgender is a xenogender defined by one's connection to the show Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (DHMIS). DHMIS was a tiny mini series held on YouTube, and made by British film-makers Rebecca Sloan and Joseph Pelling. One may feel that their gender is related to the show, one or more of the characters and/or concepts/storylines of the show, or they may feel that their gender is easiest to describe or picture in relation to the show. They may also try to incorporate it into their gender identity and/or presentation however they can.
History
DHMISGENDER was coined in early January of 2021 by two people going by Angelica and Justin. Someone going by Brazilian Erica designed the flag at 12:06 PM on a Tuesday (3/23/2021). The three colors on the flag represent the main characters from the show- yellow for Yellow Guy, green for Duck, and red for Red Guy.
