Demiflux is a form of demigender where part(s) of one's gender fluctuates in intensity, while the other part(s) are static. The static part can be any gender or combination of genders. The fluctuating part can be any genderflux identity or combination of identities. For example, the static part could be female, but the other part could be boyflux, going from fully male, partly male (demiboy), to no intensity (agender). The female part is always present and does not fluctuate.
Demiflux people may also identify as multigender. If one has multiple fluctuating genders one may also identify as multiflux.
Demiflux could also be used to describe a demigender identity that fluctuates. For example, a female demiflux person may feel demigirl most of the time but it could fluctuate between agender and demigirl.
History
According to tumblr user variant-archive, demiflux was previously known as genderpivot, but was changed due to the person who coined it being controversial.[1]
Flag
The alternate demiflux flag was created by DeviantArt user Pride-Flags sometime before February 10, 2018.[2] It was originally a scrap that was chosen to be a demiflux flag by DeviantArt user JDLuvaSQEE.
The demiflux girl and demiflux boy flags were created by Tumblr user a-marinara-sauce on July 30, 2021.[3][4]
