Crosspronoun, also known as transpronomial, crosspronominal and alterpronomial is the phenomenon of using “unexpected” pronouns; pronouns that are uncommon or do not align with one's gender identity. It is a form of gender non-conformity and falls under the umbrella of pronoun non-conforming. Examples include women using any pronoun(s) other than she/her/herself, men using any pronoun(s) other than he/his/him/himself, and non-binary people using she/her or he/him pronouns.
