Cavetowngender is a gender in which an individual's gender can be described by, is related to, or fluctuates in any way when listening to music produced by the artist Cavetown. This could mean a few things:

    • The gender in question could be described using a song or multiple songs by Cavetown, ex. "My gender is like Boys Will Be Bugs and It's U."
    • The gender is fluid and/or fluctuates when listening to Cavetown.
      • Fluid gender example: "Normally, I feel female, but when I listen to Cavetown, I feel like a demiboy."
      • Fluctuating gender example: "Normally, I feel female, but when I listen to Cavetown, I feel like a demigirl."
    • The gender is related to Cavetown. This could be because...
      • the individual has a vague gender and does not know their exact connection to the music, but knows that there is a connection
      • the individual does not know how to explain their connection due to neurodivergence
      • the individual does not wish to elaborate on the connection
      • or the individual has a hyperfixation on Cavetown/his music, once again, due to neurodivergence.

    History

The term was coined by Rem of The Circe System, aka FANDOM user Iwillregretthisuwu, on October 10, 2021. The headmate had been going through recommended gender terms and wanted to create a term representative of their love for Cavetown and how it affected their gender.
