The nonalterous flag was created by Fandom user foreigntoolmaker on July 7, 2021. It keeps the pink and yellow from Tumblr user Alterous-Albatross's original alterous flag to represent alterous attraction, but adds blue to represent alterous crushes (meshes/hushes), white to represent being valid without experiencing alterous attraction, and black to represent being nonalterous.<ref>[https://alterous-albatross.tumblr.com/post/138190598795/i-noticed-that-there-is-so-far-not-a-flag-for-the Alterous flag]</ref> |

Nonalterous, also known as a-alterous or analterous, is an orientation where one does not experience alterous attraction. Nonalterous individuals may still engage in activities typically defined by alterous attraction, such as strong emotional connections or relationships.
The opposite of nonalterous would be alloalterous, where one experiences alterous attraction.
History
The term alterous attraction was coined on or before January 19, 2015,[1] and the term "analterous" seems to have been introduced that same year.[2]
Flag
The analterous flag was created by an anonymous Tumblr user through the blog beyond-mogai-pride-flags on July 31, 2017.[3]

It keeps the pink and yellow from Tumblr user Alterous-Albatross's original alterous flag to represent alterous attraction, but adds blue to represent alterous crushes (meshes/hushes), white to represent being valid without experiencing alterous attraction, and black to represent being nonalterous.[4]
